TRIAL MEMORANDUM

Of the United States House of Representatives in the impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump

From the moment he took office, President Trump’s refusal to divest from his business interests has placed him in direct violation of the US Constitution’s Foreign Emoluments Clause and Domestic Emoluments Clause. Since then, his corruption and abuse of power have only increased. He is the only U.S. President to be impeached twice. The President must be held accountable, under the law, through the impeachment process, for serious violations and for his unprecedented level of corruption of the Oval Office and as a private citizen. Mr. Trump is currently under investigation for multiple crimes in various federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
